Nine of the homeless residents at the Lewis Center Annex received free haircuts, manicures, and a clean shave arranged by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office from the barbers at Breezy’s Grooming Lounge. The men were all preparing for upcoming job interviews.
The Lewis Center Annex opened during the middle of the pandemic to address the growing homeless population in John Prince Park. The 125 bed facility offers a single point of access for homeless and potentially homeless individuals and families who are seeking assistance to restore a self-sufficient and productive lifestyle. The individuals may receive services that include, but are not limited to, assessment, medical care, interim housing, case management, life skills training, financial literacy training, vocational training, and job placement. Lead by Gulfstream Goodwill Industries, the Annex is a unique partnership with Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, and the Human and Veterans Services Department of Palm Beach County.
Thanks again to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and Breezy’s Grooming Lounge for making our residents look so good!
