Laurel Baker

Laurel has been in Palm Beach County for 46 years and continues to marvel at its growth, both in the business sector and the nonprofit community. For the past 22 years, she has worked at the Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce, but in her earlier careers, she was involved in social work, public education, art museums, and private foundations. All these experiences have helped to strengthen her interest in the Goodwill mission and the positive changes it can bring to the area and its citizens.

Joan McCabe

Executive Board President

Joan has more than 40 years’ experience in Finance, both on Wall Street as an Investment Banker and as a Managing Partner in private equity at Brynwood Partners. Joan owned a vitamin business, which she recently sold. She currently sits on several for-profit and not-for-profit boards, including the Goodwill oversite board, Goodwill International Inc. She has a BA from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She has extensive expertise in finance, audit, and board governance. Joan is married with three adult children and lives in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

John Banister

John has had an attorney practice since 1980 specializing in civil commercial & probate litigation and commercial real estate transactions. He has been Florida Bar Board Certified in Real Estate Law since 1991. He has worked with the Executive Council for the Florida Bar Property Probate & Trust Law section. He is a Florida licensed realtor as well. He was Chairman of the Gulfstream Goodwill Board of Directors from 2002-2003 and also from 2009-2010.

Daniel Barsky

Daniel is an intellectual property attorney in Holland & Knight’s Miami office. Daniel regularly represents clients in intellectual property (IP) licensing and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures and multinational licensing agreements, as well as information technology, data privacy, cyber fraud and data breach matters. In addition to his transactional and counseling work, Daniel maintains an active, nationwide IP litigation practice and has represented clients in patent infringement, trademark infringement, and copyright infringement and trade secret theft matters. Daniel is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and regularly prosecutes patents, trademarks and copyrights for clients. In addition to his work as a lawyer, Daniel is an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law, where he teaches patent litigation and is the university’s faculty supervisor for the USPTO’s Law School Clinic Program.

Orlando Chiang

Orlando was born in Chile to Chinese parents and moved to the U.S. in 1991. He is a physical therapist, a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, and owns OC Physical Therapy in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. He is on the Board of Directors for the Armory Art Center and NMSA, a local artist organization. He is the Director of Palm Beach Shambhala, a Buddhist Meditation Group. He is also an accomplished sculptor.

Michael Cowan

Michael Cowan is the founder of Gardens Wealth Management, a private wealth management business serving mainly families with assets under management of almost $1 billion dollars. His primary role in practice is serving as Portfolio Manager of their Rising Dividend Investment Strategy. Michael has been a Financial Advisor in Palm Beach Gardens for over 22 years serving retirees or those soon to retire. Prior to starting GWM 12 years ago, he was an advisor with UBS and Citi SmithBarney. He was born and raised in South Florida and has been active in various organizations over the years. He currently serves as Board Chair of Seagull Services and is in the midst of helping them complete a merger with the Arc of Palm Beach County. Michael has a son and daughter that are both in university and he enjoys boating and travel.

William “Chip” Corley

William is an author, endurance athlete, and a money manager. As a financial professional, he is driven by macroeconomics, market history, and investment choices. Professionally, he is active in endurance sports, is an Ironman triathlete, and ultramarathon runner. He has previously competed in the Badwater 135-mile nonstop endurance ultra, which is considered the world’s toughest road race. Public speaking and sharing his story of financial fitness with others are among his favorite pastimes.

Juliza Kramer

Juliza Kramer has worked in the media, financial, and events industries and has over 10 years of experience in marketing, branding, public speaking, public relations, and communications. Juliza graduated from the University of Florida with a major in telecommunications as she initially wanted to become a TV reporter but then life took her a different route. She double minored in Spanish and Communications. She is a born and raised Florida girl who grew up in West Boca. Because she is originally from Palm Beach County she enjoys seeing the community flourish and serves many local organizations including the Palm Beach Chamber Young Professionals Council, Palm Beach Symphony Young Professionals Council, Palm Beach North Chamber Young Professionals Council, IMPACT 100 Palm Beaches Board Member, Vice-Chair of the Leadership Business Council and most recently has been appointed to the Board of Directors for Goodwill. She is vivacious and always positive with a huge smile on her face which exemplifies her love of her career. In her personal time, she enjoys traveling, trying new local restaurants, reading, being active, and boating.

Carl Nicola

Carl started his career on Wall Street in municipal finance. He has over 40 years of management positions and experience, focused on investment banking, M&A, and consulting to early stage companies. He has held management positions in both the public and private sectors in telecommunications, healthcare, technology, and payment processing. Besides Gulfstream Goodwill, Carl is on the executive boards of CARP and Gratitude House which both serve the indigent in the Palm Beach County community.
