The Philip D. Lewis Center, often referred to as the Lewis Center, serves as a centralized access point for individuals and families in Palm Beach County who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. As part of the “Leading the Way Home” Plan, the Lewis Center plays a vital role in the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners’ long-term commitment to ending homelessness across the region.
The Lewis Center provides 66 shelter beds for individuals who are actively seeking assistance to transition out of homelessness and into a self-sufficient, stable lifestyle. It acts as a hub for assessment and coordinated care, helping clients identify the resources they need to move forward.
Services offered at the Lewis Center include:
Comprehensive assessments to determine client needs
Interim housing accommodations for individuals in crisis
Medical care and wellness services through onsite providers
Case management to develop and support individualized plans
Life skills training and financial literacy workshops
Vocational training and job placement to promote long-term stability

The Central County Housing Resource Center in Lake Worth Beach is a vital component of Palm Beach County’s commitment to ending homelessness. Located in Pahokee, Lake Village at the Glades provides 42 one-bedroom, one-bathroom units designed to accommodate families, seniors, couples, and single individuals experiencing homelessness. This site offers a safe, stable environment where residents can begin to rebuild their lives with dignity.
Each resident receives ongoing support including:
Case management and referrals tailored to their personal situation
Life skills development workshops and training sessions
Access to employment services in partnership with Career Source
